What should you do with your 401k plan post crisis?   First of all you should re-evaluate your retirement horizon and risk tolerances.  If you are 55 years old and planning on retiring in 5 years, a portfolio that consists of 100% stocks is probably not right for you.  The next step is to look at your contribution level.  If you can afford to defer more do so especially if you are leaving matching funds from your employer on the table.  Lastly, monitor your funds and allocation.  Most participants do not rebalance or monitor their portfolio.  This is a mistake.
